Acorn Family Homemade Gag Gift
I love seeing people laugh and when I'm able, try to come up with a way to cause laughter. So when you combine a homemade gift with laughter, the results are happy people and what better reward can be than that? I wanted to come up with something special for 3 specific people in my life. Then the lightbulb came on over my head and this was the result:
Who did you make it for?
My brother, my sister-in-law and my best friend.
What materials did you use?
A 2"X3" block of wood, a woodsie, acorns, a magnet, clear nail polish, and some ribbon.
How did you make it?
I drilled a small hole in the center of each acorn cap. I then painted the caps. When dry, I knotted a piece of ribbon with the knot being on the underside of the cap and glued the cap onto the acorn.
I then painted the block of wood red. I glued the printed verse onto the woodsie and drilled a small hole in the bottom corners. I pulled the ribbon on each acorn through the hole and glued the woodsie to the block of wood.
I coated the entire project with clear nail polish, including the acorns. This gives it a nice shiny appeal. I then glued google eyes on the acorns and attached a magnet to the back.
