Candy Cane Ornaments
What it looks like after the glue and the ribbon.
I went to the local dollar store and spent two dollars on a two boxes of mini candy canes. Then an extra dollar on snowflake cellophane I planned on wrapping the ornaments in.
I took two candy canes and glued them together with a hot glue gun. I let it dry, and it stuck together perfectly. (EDIT: We recommend using royal icing instead of hot glue, because it's edible and non-toxic. Or, warm the candy canes in the oven, which will make them slightly sticky, then just press them together and allow them to cool.)
I then added some red ribbon (for the hook to hold on the tree) that I just had in the house. I took the snowflake cellophane and cut the right size, so I could wrap the candy cane ornament up, and tie it with some red and green ribbon.
I plan on giving this to family, friends, and neighbors!
It's a cute, easy and GREAT gift... and it only cost THREE dollars!
