Easy foam craft visor
Here I'll show you how to make and decorate a foam visor for your Mom for Mother's day.
What materials did you use?
- 2 foam visors of different colors
- scissors
- malleable glue
- decorative clasps
- tracing paper
- pencil
- sheet of paper
How did you make it?Remove the strap and put it aside from both visors, you will only be using the one of your choice.
Trace a visor onto the sheet of paper, draw on your letters for a pattern with the letters facing the front of the bill on the visor. Trace your letters onto the visor that will be the top then carefully lift the tracing paper being sure that all your letters traced.
Using your paper pattern decide where to place your clasps, they will easily push through the foam by themselves. Insert and lock them, then place your second visor under the top one and glue them together with the bottom one sticking out a half inch; this will hide the bottoms of the claps.
Apply your glue liberally to the bottom visor and place the two together, weight them down and let dry for a hour or so.
Remove the round reinforcement tab from the bottom visor and replace it covering the hole of the top visor. Trim the bottom one at the ends so it doesn't stick out and reinsert your strap through the holes.
Anything else you'd like to share about your project? Not all Mothers are lace and prim, some are the dig flowers and fence posts kind so they need to protect their faces. Others are sports fans. Whatever the case may be, you can decorate your foam visor to say just about anything you want. You could even decoupage on one!
