For April
I'd like to share a card I made for Valentine's Day. I decided to venture outside of the "Hearts" theme and instead make the card according to the recipient's interests in order to give the card a more personal touch.
Who did you make it for?
This is for my friend, April, who simply adores anything vintage! She inspired me to finally take my scissors out of the drawer and get crafty again after almost 6 years of being "unproductive". Through her works and her friendship, I was able to explore my creative side again and renew my love affair with paper!
What materials did you use?
Cardstock, recycled paper, lace, stamps, paper scraps, ribbon, and inkpad for distressing paper edges.
How did you make it?
I started with a white cardstock base and layered it with papers of different vintage colors. I also distressed the edges with brown inkpad in order to make it look more vintage. The edges of the recycled paper (the brown one) were torn by hand before they were ink distressed. I then added embellishments like lace, ribbon, button, stickers and a stamped sentiment for my friend.
Anything else you'd like to share about your project?
Just the fact that I'm hoping she will receive my card first before seeing it here! LOL I was just really excited to share it with you guys.. Advance happy valentine's day! Live, Laugh and Love!
Hope you visit my site, paperdreamsofmine.blogspot.com. Although you won't find this friendship Valentine card uploaded there yet. Maybe after April receives it. *wink*
