Giant Tiny Gift

I got my friend a nice necklace for Christmas once. As you know, necklaces aren't very big...

This necklace in particular was quite small as most of it was a thin chain. It had a metal jigsaw piece on the end that said 'BEST', and
I have the matching necklace that says 'FRIENDS' on the jigsaw piece.

Anyway, it was a bit small, so I decided to put it in a small box that was a bit like the ones on your page about gift boxes. Then I put that box inside a quite large box and wrapped that in wrapping paper.

My friend put it under her tree and opened it on Christmas day...

She told me the next time I saw her that she had no idea what the present was but she would never have guessed what was really in it!

It isn't a horrible trick but it is just a bit of fun and excitement... put in a nice gift!

Great idea!

My mum did a similar trick this year for my sister's birthday. Mum had bought her a really nice pair of earrings that my sister had been eyeing off, but wrapped them in a kitchen mixer box (my sister is not at all into cooking!).

So when my sister opened the wrapping and saw the mixer box, we could tell that she was disappointed. But then her face really lit up when she found the earrings inside :-)

Rocks as a gift
by: Anonymous

My neighbor's daughter mailed them their Christmas gifts, my neighbor brought it to me and said she knew the gifts were not wrapped and would I open the box and wrap them so they could put them under the tree.

The box contained two beautiful sweaters but I did not want them to guess what they were. I wrapped the sweaters and put them under my tree then I got two boxes, one was very odd shaped. I put tissue paper in it then some rocks from the driveway, wrapped it and told them it was very fragil and I was surpried it had not broken. Mary took the box and put it behind the tree to protect it. I put tissue in the other box and a brick.

We were to go over to watch them open their gifts on Christmas Eve and then I was going to give them the real gifts but was late because of company. The opened their gifts but had also turned on their tape recorder. When we went over they gave us that look and started to laugh, turned on the tape recorder and we laughed until we cried. They opened their gifts and the husband asked his wife what she got, she said a "box of rocks" - he said "well, I did better, I got a brick." Then he said I will give even with that woman! He did! I won a bet and he paid me $25 in pennies.
