Homemade Christmas Decorations: Angel Star Tree Topper

Angel Star Tree Topper

Angel Star Tree Topper

To make the angel star, I found a large tin star at a discount store. I used different colors and patterns of coordinating paper, cut the pieces to fit each point of the star and covered it using Mod Podge. I used ink around the edges to give it that vintage look.

Next, I googled "angel images" and found an image of angels that I liked. I printed it and cut it out. I adhered the image to the star.

I then embellished the star with a couple feathers, star twine, glitter chipboard stars, a resin flourish (I found at my local scrapbook store) and musical note paper.

I can't believe it's made out of a discount-store star...

Thank you!

Yep! I found the tin star at Big Lots!

To hook it to the top of the tree, I just kind of nestled it in between the branches towards the top. So, it's not actually on the very tip top of the tree, just kind of nestled towards the top. :)
