Mini Album - photos joined to one another by ribbon
Moms, Grandmas, and Aunts can never have enough photos of their kids! So here you can make your own mini album all tucked away in a beautiful keepsakes box. And the best part is you can keep adding more photos to it as the years go on!
What materials did you use?
- Round Wooden Box (Michael's for $1)
- Patterned Paper
- Ribbon and Trim
- Cardstock
- Circle (Scalloped and Non) Punches or Dies
- Flowers (Prima - all different sizes)
- Liquid Pearls in White Opal or Adhesive Pearls
- Photos!
- Poem for Mom, Grandma, Aunt (Found online - Just Google, Poem for Mom, etc)
- Hot Glue Gun
How did you make it?First, you need to cover your box with some pretty patterned paper. Decorate the box with trims along the top and bottom. Print out your favorite poem or saying. I then hand tore the edges and distressed with brown ink. Adhere to top of box. Then add flowers and pearls.
Now to make the album: Using a Circle Punch or Die, make some circle shaped photos. Then mat it onto another larger size circle. Once you have all of your photos matted, you will take a 4" piece of ribbon and adhere it to the back of 1 matted circle with a little hot glue. Then mat that circle to a scalloped larger circle. Take the tail of that ribbon and adhere it to the back of another matted circle. Then continue with another 4" piece of ribbon by adhering into onto that last circle and then onto the back of another. (See photos).
Continue this until all photos are linked together. And all of the Circles should be matted with a scalloped circle. Decorate with pearls, if desired.
Place some tissue paper inside of the box and then your mini album on top.
Anything else you'd like to share about your project? You can also include a small gift inside with the album. A piece of jewelry, money, etc. You can make your box and album any size you like. It makes an extra special gift. And since you can add photos any time you like, it's a gift that keeps on giving!
