Homemade Mother's Day Gift Idea: Recipe Binder
Mom loves to cook, and this easy recipe binder will keep all her favorite recipes organized and ready to use. Recipes are propped up and easy to read!
What materials did you use?
1 Hard covered 3 ring binder 6 3/4 x 9 inches
1 20 x 20 inch fabric of choice
2 7 x 9 inch pieces of felt
1 36 inch length of satin ribbon
1 Pack of ruled index cards 5 x 8 inches
1 Piece of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch clear vinyl
1 Set of Dividers
Tacky Glue
How did you make it?
1. Lay 3 ring binder flat on top of fabric piece (wrong side of fabric facing up). Fold edges of fabric around binder and use tacky glue to adhere fabric to inside of binder.
2. Glue felt on each side of binder on inside covering the fabric.
3. Fold satin ribbon in half. Measure 10 inches from the folded end and tie a bow.
4. Glue the bow part of ribbon at end of binder on inside (part where the rings are located)
5. Punch 3 holes on top of index cards and the clear vinyl piece.
To prop up recipe binder: Flip the inside cover of binder together and slip loop of ribbon underneath holding recipe binder upright.
Use clear vinyl on top of the recipe to protect from getting dirty when using recipe. Insert divider tabs with topics/categories. Add label using cardstock and letters to spell out "Recipes" on front of binder.
