Mother's Day Shadow Box
This coming May will mark my daughter's very first Mother's Day! I thought I would commemorate this joyous occasion by making a shadow box with a picture of her baby girl. I made the clock to point to the exact time her baby was born and wrote "Time Stood Still"... because at the moment her precious daughter was born, time really did stand still for us. For any mother, the moment your child comes into your life, time stands still for you.
What materials did you use?
- Box lid
- white acrylic paint
- scrapbook paper
- fabric flowers
- glitter number stickers
- adhesive ( I used Zip Dry)
How did you make your Mother's day presentPaint the box top and let dry.
Cut and fit scrapbook paper to the inside of the box with paper of your choosing.
Place picture inside the box and print out the words "Time Stood Still". The font I used is called "Porcelain". Cut out words and adhere to the picture inside the box.
Cut out a circle and affix glitter number stickers around the circle so it looks like a clock. Adhere to the inside of the box.
Embellish with flowers around the inside and outside of the box.
Anything else you'd like to share about your homemade Mother's day present? You could also use a store bought shadow box and real clock, but if you're on a budget then using a box lid and making your own clock is the way to go! A first time mother will treasure her beautiful new shadow box.
