Homemade Worry Stone Project

Worry Stone
I gave a worry stone to a friend 12 years ago and she still treasures it! This here is one I made for my sister recently.
Skill Level: Easy
Materials Needed:
- 1 rock of your choice (free if found in nature)
- Small amount of paint
- Clear nail polish (optional but highly suggested)
- Card below to attach to gift (I wrote this poem. Please feel free to use it or you can make one up of your own)
Worry Stone PoemI'm your little worry stone,
Please keep me close to you.
So when life gives you blues or troubles,
This is what you do.
Wrap your hand around me,
Give me a rub and say.
Be gone all worries and sadness,
For today will be a wonderful day!
Directions:Find a rock that appeals to you. I used a flat, round stone that I found. Wipe or wash off any dirt. Allow to dry, if washed.
From here on this is all free form. My stone was for my sister, so I chose something dear to her heart (her dog, Gizmo) but it can be something as simple as a date that has meaning or a heart. After paint has dried, brush clear polish to cover. Do one side, let dry, then the other side. I did several coats because I wanted a high gloss look.
When dry, I wrapped the stone in a piece of material and put it in an infant mitten. I gathered the mitten at the cuff and tied the card on with red ribbon.
