Keepsake Box for Mom
My sweet Mother is in her 90's and has a difficult time with her memory. Memories of her past are starting to fade quickly. I thought it would be a wonderful gift to her to make a keepsake box with photos of my siblings and I when we were children and photos of her as a young woman. I asked each of my siblings to write a letter for our Mother with a few of their favorite memories of her tucked inside the box along with the photos.
What materials did you use to make your keepsake box?
- Paper Mache Box
- Scrapbook paper
- Embellishments
- Mod Podge
- Ribbon
- Lace
- Paint
- Glitter letters
How did you make the keepsake box for your Mom?- Paint the paper mache box and let dry.
- Cut different patterns and colors of scrapbook paper to fit the box and use Mod Podge to glue the paper onto the box.
- Embellish the front of the box with an image of a mother and child, ribbon and glitter letters to spell "Mom".
- Glue lace down the side of the box.
- To decorate the inside, cut scrapbook paper to fit the inside of the box and attach a family picture to the inside lid. Attach a sticker that says "love" next to the photo.
- Fill the inside of the box with letters to Mom and photos.
