My Mother loves to display photos all around her house. But she doesn't have a single one of herself! I wanted to change that and give her a fun and unique way to display this darling photo of herself as a little girl. Happy Mother's Day!
What materials did you use?
- Mason Jar
- Candle stick holder (dollar store)
- Spray Paint
- Epoxy E600 (super glue)
- small wooden ball (Michael's)
- ribbon
- paper
How did you make your homemade Mother's day present?Spray paint a candle stick holder, wooden ball and the lid of the mason jar with spray paint.
After the paint is dry, glue the mason jar on top of the candle stick using Epoxy E600 and let dry. While that is drying, glue the wooden ball on top of the mason jar lid and let dry as well.
Print out "Happy Mother's Day" onto a sheet of paper (I used the font "French Script" in size 36) and cut it out into a tag shape. Punch a hole through the tag, loop ribbon around it and tie around the ball that's on top of the mason jar. Tie another piece of ribbon around the ball and tie a bow.
I put some shredded tissue in the jar, placed the photo in the jar and screwed the lid back on. You're all finished! Easy as pie! ;)
Anything else you'd like to share about your homemade Mother's day present? This is an extremely inexpensive yet elegant and thoughtful gift to give your mother. You could paint it your mother's favorite color or perhaps the color of the room you know she'll display it in. A fun alternative to a photo is to put your mom's favorite candy in the jar. She could alternate different candies to coordinate with each season.
