Origami Butterfly Bouquet - creative cash

A friend at work needed help coming up with a creative way to give a cash gift. His sister always prefers money instead of a present, but just sticking cash in a card seems so impersonal. I found this website when I was searching for Money Origami folding ideas. Someone else had submitted the instructions on folding an origami butterfly, so I took that idea and ran with it!

He had given me two $20 bills, and each butterfly takes two bills. So I changed them in for 8 $5 bills instead. Then, using just simple things I already had around my house, I put it all together into a bouquet. It was really pretty easy, and looked so cute! You could have a lot of fun playing with different colors and bases.

Here's what I used:

8 $5 bills (makes 4 butterflies)
8 chenille pipe cleaners
1 square of floral foam
1 sheet of colored tissue paper
1 gift bag

I placed the floral foam inside the gift bag with the tissue paper gathered around it, then stuck the stems from the pipe cleaners into the foam. Arrange the tissue so that it covers the top of the foam, and there you go! A cute little bouquet of butterfly bucks!

Idea Flys!

Awesome! Canadian money looks great to mix and match the colors. The new Cdn bills, made of new material, are a bit more difficult to fold, but this is still very simple.
