My recipes for chocolate dipped strawberries are so simple, and the result tastes delicious!

Melting chocolate for strawberries really is quick and easy.

You can use all types of chocolate to coat your strawberries - play with different types to create the effect that you want!

I use dark and milk chocolate as they are my favourite, but you can also use white chocolate, or a combination of all three!

Enjoy!

Recipes for Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Ingredients:

  • 100g milk chocolate
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 250g fresh strawberries
  • toothpicks
  • an orange cut in half, or some styrofoam
(Substitute in white chocolate if you prefer)

Method:

1. Wash your strawberries and pat dry with paper-towel.

2. Break up the dark and milk chocolate into squares and put into separate bowls.

3. Bring a small amount of water to the boil in a saucepan. Rest one of the bowls on top of the saucepan (make sure the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl).

4. Stir the chocolate continuously until it has melted and has a smooth consistency. Remove from heat to cool slightly. Repeat the melting process with the other chocolate.

You can also melt the chocolate in the microwave on low, but you must stir every few second or the chocolate might burn.

5. Once your chocolate has melted, insert a tooth-pick into the base of each strawberry, and dip strawberry into either the milk or dark chocolate bowl.

I find it easiest to dip a dessert spoon into the chocolate, and then roll the strawberry in chocolate on the spoon. Leave some of the red of the fruit showing, as this creates a nice contrast.

6. Stick the other end of the toothpick into the back half of an orange so that the strawberry can rest upside-down to dry (or use a block of styrofoam if you have it).

7. Once the chocolate on the strawberry has set, re-melt the chocolate in the bowls.

9. Once the chocolate has set, store the strawberries at room temperature and eat within 2 days (I doubt they will last that long!).
