What to Do With Your Free Dog Coloring Pages

Coloring these printable dog coloring sheets is only half the fun! If you’re crafty, you can take your masterpieces and make them into so much more than rainy day activities. Check out some of these ideas for what to do with your free dog coloring pages.

Turn Them Into Magnets

This one is a bit of a project, but can be a lot of fun. You’ll need clear glass (like a marble) or a piece of cardboard to use for a backing for this craft. Get strong glue to attach part of your coloring page to the glass or cardboard. Then glue on a magnet. That’s it! You’ve made an adorable doggy magnet that you colored yourself. You may want to seal the image with something like Mod Podge to ensure it looks great for a long time to come.

Create a Doggy Collage

You can also cut out all your adorable dog coloring page images to make a collage. Maybe you just want to cut out the dogs themselves and remove the backgrounds. Or maybe you want some of the cute additions like flowers, hearts, and dog bowls. You can mix and match the images on several of these printable dog coloring pages to create your own brand new image. This can be a fun activity for home or school!

Use Them as Wrapping Paper

Make a gift extra special by using your dog coloring pages as wrapping paper. If you do this, you might want to start by printing out the image at a slightly larger size. It depends on the size of the gift you need to wrap, but measure first so you know your coloring sheet will suit your gift.

From there, it’s simply a matter of printing out your image, coloring it in (maybe with the kids), and carefully wrapping it around your gift. Tie it off with string or affix it in place with a little tape. Try to get your beautiful artwork front and center so your giftee knows you made this wrapping paper yourself.

Make Them Into Bookmarks

If you’re like me, you never have enough bookmarks. So why not make a few more of your own? You can fold or cut one of your finished artworks into the size of a bookmark. If you want it to be sturdier, try gluing it to a bit of cardboard and sealing it with some Mod Podge. You can punch a hole in the top if you want to include a tassel on your design. And there you have it! A custom bookmark that you made and colored yourself.

Use Them as Cards, Envelopes, or Journal Pages

The one depends on the size of the printable coloring page. For example, if you want to make your dog coloring page into a dog card, you should make sure it takes up one quadrant of the sheet. That way, when you fold up your card, you can have your coloring page on the front. But a journal page doesn’t require this consideration, as you can just color your page and add it to your journal with glue or tape. You can even fold your dog coloring sheet into an envelope if you want to get really fancy.

These are great ways to keep these images as precious personal memories. However, you can also use this like you’d use the wrapping paper. An envelope or card that you made yourself shows a little extra care and concern. If your giftee is a dog-lover, they’ll be really touched that you went the extra mile for them.
