Thanksgiving Bingo Game
Wondering how Thanksgiving Bingo works, what you’ll need to get started, or how to add your own holiday twist? We have the answers to help you get your game ready for a little Thanksgiving fun.
What is Thanksgiving Bingo?
Thanksgiving Bingo is a holiday version of the classic bingo game, with cards featuring Thanksgiving-themed pictures and symbols. You might also hear it called “turkey bingo”, especially when the cards picture plenty of turkeys and other Thanksgiving favorites. It’s a cheerful way to add some game-time fun to a classroom celebration, family gathering, or Thanksgiving party.
How to Play Thanksgiving Bingo?
Start by giving everyone a Bingo card and something to cover the spaces. One person calls out the pictures on the cards, while players look for the matching images on their own boards. The first player to complete the designated pattern and call out “Bingo!” (or for a variation, try calling out “Turkey!”) wins the round.
What Do You Need to Play Thanksgiving Bingo?
You’ll need a Thanksgiving Bingo card for each player, someone to be the caller, and small objects to use to cover the spaces as they are called. Turkey erasers, mini mumpkins, fall leaves, and autumn-colored pom-poms all make festive markers.
What Are Some Thanksgiving Bingo Prize Ideas?
A little prize can make the race to “Bingo!” even more exciting, especially when the rewards fit the Thanksgiving theme. Try turkey erasers, fall stickers, pumpkin or turkey cookies, candy corn, mini treats, or a small Thanksgiving coloring book for simple prizes kids will enjoy.
You could also turn the holiday itself into a prize by letting the winner choose the next game, pick the next caller, or get first choice from the dessert table (I’m looking at you, pumpkin pie!).
For a classroom or party, having a small basket of prizes to choose from can make each round feel like its own little celebration. Make sure to remind them to show gratitude for their prize!
