Independence Day
Independence Day is an American federal holiday on July 4. It commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which declared the colonies of America to be free and independent from the rule of Britain. The Fourth of July holiday is celebrated with fireworks, parades, barbeques, sporting events, and time with family and friends. It's a key holiday in your summer calendar! Why is the Calendar Emoji July 17?
World Emoji Day is July 17th. You might recognize the date from the calendar emoji. It began with the calendar emoji on the Apple platforms, but it has since spread and become the standard for the calendar emoji on other platforms as well. According to Dictionary.com, this date was chosen to commemorate the day in 2002 that Apple announced iCal. However, it has since gained a life of its own with social media hashtags and emoji celebrations.
