Last updated: January 7, 2026 by the Homemade Gifts Coloring Team

Plant coloring pages are for anyone like me who keeps a garden going year round. Plants make my morning brighter, even in the dark of winter, and I love not only caring for my plants but also sitting down with plant coloring pages when most of my garden is sleeping through the winter. So I hope that whether you have a flourishing backyard jungle or a couple succulents on your windowsill, these plant coloring pages can add a bit more green to your life.

Plant Crafts to Satisfy Your Green Thumb

When winter hits, I miss getting to go outside and water my garden. If you’re like me, or even if you’ve never had a garden in your life, you can enjoy these simple plant crafts. They’re great to share with the kids as well.

Paint Rocks and Flower Pots

This is a wonderful craft for winter or spring. As you’re preparing for starting a new garden, gather up your garden stones and flower pots and decorate them with the kids. You can use simple paint on either rocks or clay pots. Use plant coloring pages for inspiration or just let your creativity fly.

Press Flowers

If you have some flowers in your garden, you can preserve them for the long term by pressing them. There are a lot of ways to press flowers. You can put them in a book and close them there. It’s helpful to have paper to absorb some of the moisture and a weight to hold the book down. Then just leave them there for two to four weeks. You can also place flowers on parchment paper and iron them at low heat to press them. You can even microwave them in short bursts! Or keep flowers forever thanks to our flower coloring pages.

Start a Windowsill Garden

Too many times a friend has told me they’re intimidated by the thought of keeping a garden alive. Start small with a simple windowsill garden! A windowsill is a great place for herbs or succulents to grow. If you go with succulents, they also require very little watering and maintenance. They’re almost as easy as the succulents in our plant coloring pages, in fact. You can even use some of those clay pots you decorated above to house them.

Make a Mini Terrarium

You can also test the gardening waters with a mini terrarium. Use a mason jar or other glass and fill it with some stones and fake moss from the craft store. You can add fake plants as well. Now you’ve got a cute little garden that doesn’t even need watering, much like our plant coloring pages.
