What makes Spider-Man so lovable? For me, it’s his snappy comebacks and snarky remarks as he saves the day. Not to mention, his love for his city and its people. Spider-Man’s courage and compassion in the face of danger really encompass heroism. We've created coloring pages inspired by our favorite Spidey scene that are perfect for when your kids are climbing up the walls and need something to do.

Who is Spider-Man?
Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can! This catchy theme song was popularized by Paul Francis Webster and Bob Harris in the very first Spider-Man cartoon (1967). When Spider-Man first made his debut in 1962, he was an instant hit with comic book enthusiasts. It’s hard to believe that our favorite web slinger has been webbing baddies for over sixty years!
Spider-Man has been featured in comic books, video games, and cartoons, including the Avengers collection. You can’t throw a rock without hitting a Spider-Man action figure nowadays. As the Spider-Verse expands, so does his iconic web-slinging heroism. But there’s more to Spider-Man than protecting Queens, NY (and surrounding areas!).
We see Spider-Man as a fun-loving, snarky teenager just trying to make his neighborhood a better place. He's often trying to make ends meet by selling his Spidey pictures to J. Jonah Jameson at The Daily Bugle newspaper. More importantly, we also get to see Peter as a human. Sure, he's been bitten by a radioactive spider, which gave him the coolest powers, but he is very truly human and relatable.
Peter has suffered many losses throughout his life. When he was young, he lost his parents, and as a teenager, Uncle Ben. However, it is Uncle Ben’s passing where we see Peter truly find himself in many ways. I believe that Peter is so relatable, not just for his sarcasm and wit, but for his compassion and heart. He has such a good spirit and drive, that it makes us want to do good for our community as well.
Furthermore, we see Peter Parker as a little bit of a tech genius, which makes it super cool to be a nerd. He encourages others to just be themselves and to indulge their passions. And even though he doesn’t portray himself as a smart guy—he really is—and that’s awesome.
Spider-Man has made so many friends over the decades, and his universe has evolved into what we now call the Spider-Verse. What is the Spider-Verse? Essentially, the Spider-Verse was created to link all Spider-Man storylines together through a shared multiverse. This allows for pretty cool crossovers, if you ask me!
