When it’s time to celebrate things like fun, curiosity, and a sense of adventure, Ariel coloring pages are the best way to spend time with your kids or grandkids. These coloring pages offer us a chance to go on an adventure under the sea whenever we need to get away.

My kids love Princess Ariel. They love Flounder, Sebastien, and the idea of mermaids living in a glass castle under the sea. My daughter has a Princess Ariel dress costume, complete with mermaid tail and a wig of Ariel hair. She even has an Ursula stuffie. My son loves King Triton’s trident and Prince Eric. So we know what to do when it’s raining - we pull out these Ariel coloring pages and imagine being part of their world.

Under the Sea Crafts for Ariel Coloring Pages
Whether you’re by the sea or in the mountains, you can try these fun Ariel-themed activities on vacation or when it’s raining outside. They work with kids of all ages, and teens love them too!
Make Your Own Little Mermaid Castle
Everybody knows that little mermaids live in big castles. Grab your building supplies - you can use whatever you have on hand, but we love using popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, cotton balls, and seashells. With a little glue and a lot of imagination, everyone can build their own under-sea castle.
For a fun (and tasty) variation, use edible building materials like veggie sticks, berries, and graham crackers. Think gingerbread houses but with peanut butter instead of frosting.
Singing and Dancing Competition
This one is for all the little performers out there. After you finish coloring and decorating them (hello glitter and googly eyes), cut out your favorite characters from the Ariel coloring sheets and glue sticks to the back of them so your kids can hold them like a stick puppet. Turn on your favorite music and see who can put on the best show.
When my family does this, the kids always start with the cutouts of Ariel and Prince Eric, but after a song or two, they get into it and start dancing themselves. So. Much. Fun.
Play A Little Mermaid Charades
Sometimes mermaids lose their voices, whether they made a bad deal with a witch or spent too much time singing about their collection of human objects. When that happens, it is time to play charades!
Using our Princess Ariel coloring pages for inspiration, write out various mermaid-themed objects (King Triton’s trident), characters (Flotsam and Jetsam), or moments (Prince Eric trying to kiss the girl) and take turns acting them out. Remember, Ariel can’t tell Eric who she is, so no talking aloud! This one is great for parents and grandparents to play along with the kids.
Build A Collection of Objects from the Human World
Ariel loves to collect objects from the human world, and you can too! Have your kids look around your house, campsite, or hotel room for basic objects that a mermaid wouldn’t understand. The best thingamabobs, whozits, and whatzits are simple, like a comb, a pencil, or a sandal. Then have each child explain their object just like Scuttle the seagull. Bonus points for the craziest explanations and the funniest names.
